Vincy Mas is a vibrant Caribbean summer celebration starting on the last Friday in June and continuing for about 12 days. It is a spectacular carnival celebration that is full of culture, tradition and heritage, an explosion of music, colour, costumes and dance. The carnival attracts thousands of tourists and the streets of the island come alive. It is the largest celebration that takes place on the island.
The carnival kicks off with J’Ouvert, a celebration that occurs before sunrise. It is loads of fun with bands playing soca, calypso and steelpan and lots of dancing with an abundance of mud and paint! Some of the biggest highlights of Vincy Mas are the Miss St. Vincent Competition, the Soca Monarch Competition, Miss Carnival, Carnival King and Queen competition and the Junior Pan Fest. These are all popular events that draw big crowds. The highlight and biggest day of partying is the Mardi Gras Parade of Bands which is a spectacular event showcasing many incredible costumes. There are also several food and drink vendors serving alcohol and delicious Creole and Caribbean dishes.
The 2024 Vincy Mass will begin on Friday June 28th and end on Tuesday July 9th, 2024.
The two days of carnival are public holidays and will take place on Monday July 8th and Tuesday July 9th, 2024.
